Countdown to Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open 2006 begins

The countdown to the first Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open 2006, India’s biggest international Tennis extravaganza, began with some top-flight action from a bevy of celebrities here at CCI , Mumbai.

The celebrity line-up included Indian tennis legend Mahesh Bhupathi, top-seed Mario Ancic, and supermodel Diana Hayden, Bollywood stars Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kapoor and Dr. Vijay Mallya. The afternoon saw a variety of exhibition matches including a face-off between tennis greats Mahesh Bhupathi and Mario Ancic. As part of the audience, stars like Kunal Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan participated to cheer the celebrity players during the game. The special invitees who were present as guests were treated to an exciting evening of friendly competition and fun.

The Draw Ceremony for the scheduling of matches for the forthcoming tournament will be held on Saturday September 23, 2006 at 3.00 pm at the C.K. Nayudu Hall, CCI, Mumbai. The tickets for the tournament will go on sale at the venue, from September 25, 2006 onwards.
