Sandy Media Launches Second Edition of TAAL

New Delhi, Delhi, India , 2006-11-22

Sandy Media, publishers of two specialist magazines, Theatre World and SoundSolutions – Asia’s first and only resource magazines on motion picture exhibition, and audio/acoustics technology applications respectively – is launching the second edition of TAAL, to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 1st –3rd December 2006.

The inaugural edition, TAAL 2005, was organised at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, from 6 to 8 December 2005. The 3-day extravaganza, the first of its kind in Asia, was aimed at opening wider opportunities in the chosen areas of Cinema Exhibition, Pro AV, Acoustics and Lighting applications. It comprised technical sessions on various issues relating to the industry’s interest as well as a comprehensive trade show.

While the technical sessions opened a wider, newer platform for industry to debate, the tradeshow saw a spectacular mix of international manufacturers and regional distributors coming together in the chosen areas of Live Sound, Technical Lighting, Pro AV, Acoustics, Cinema Technologies like Projection Systems and Cinema Seatings. About 100+ companies had participated in the exhibition, and it had a footfall of about 6,000 business visitors for three days.

TAAL, meaning rhythm, is aimed to be an industry platform for Theatre, Audio-Visual, Acoustics, and Lighting industries in Asia. It is an ambitious initiative conceived and conceptualized in tune with the industry demand for a new, genuine, platform that epitomizes the strengths of the industry, works for its cause, and helps it strike synergy with the global industry domains. It is a dedicated, interactive platform between the equipment manufacturers and the user communities from across the continent / globe.

Indian entertainment and the attendant office AV is a multi-billion dollar industry racking up a scorching 40% growth per year, one of the highest growth rates. This will make the industry one of the largest in the world.

With a view to expanding the opportunity of global interaction across the country, TAAL moved to New Delhi this year.

The national capital is now the focus of global attention now for trade and commerce and therefore is a befitting event location for TAAL. In fact, TAAL will now be hosted alternately in south and north India to sustain the national footprint.

This year the event will be a congregation of prospective cine-mall builders/multiplexes, performance space owners/builders from across Asia, and design professionals, consultants, manufacturers, integrators and leaders of entertainment industry from across the world.

QUOTABLE QUOTES: VIEW OF INDUSTRY CAPTAINS ABOUT TAAL 2005
