GTA Introduces GB-OS 4.0 Firewall Software, New, Redesigned and Updated Operating System Offers Simple Control for Advanced Network Security

Global Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA), a worldwide leader in cost-effective network security solutions, today announced the release of GB-OS 4.0, the next evolution of GTA firewall system software. Totally redesigned and updated, GB-OS 4.0 focuses on the user experience by providing powerful functions in an intuitive, simple to use graphical user interface.

"GTA approached the task of updating our system software with a goal of making user interaction simple, while maintaining the power of our flexible customization options," said Paul Emerson, President of GTA. The new interface features a unique 'Live Mode/Test Mode' tool for runtime configuration.

Administrators have a virtual scratch pad to revise and verify configuration changes without any danger of unexpected results, making upgrade tasks easier and stress free.

In addition to the redesigned graphical user interface, GB-OS 4.0 contains numerous new standard features and product enhancements including powerful object encapsulation for easy creation of security policies, expanded group support in a wide variety of policies and expanded WAN/LAN routing capabilities with VLAN.

GB-OS 4.0 ships pre-installed on GTA's wide range of appliances and the turnkey GB-Ware software firewall, all designed to meet the networking needs of the SME market.

GB-OS 4.0 will be available at no charge to existing GTA customers with a GTA support contract or annual maintenance agreement, or who purchased a GTA firewall on or after February 17, 2006.
