“Fan Faces” - new campaign for the FIFA World Cup™
Philips, as the official supplier of Ambilight flat screens to the media centers and the stadium, is capturing the patriotic essence of the games in a new FIFA World Cup™ advertising campaign, entitled “Fan Faces”.
Everyone has their own game face, whether face-painted or not, when it comes to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™. The campaign will feature passionate faces painted with the colors of the national flags of 19 of the qualified countries. When displayed on an Ambilight TV, the immersive lighting effect enhances the expressive features of each of the faces. This delivers a true colorful blend of football fans ‘emotions from all over the world.
The creative campaign is in support of Philips’ sponsorship of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ and dedicated to the ultimate passion of excitement that all football fans share when it comes to the FIFA World Cup™. From helping to power the first High Definition (HD) broadcast of the FIFA World Cup™ to providing an immersive home viewing experience for football fans with its unique Ambilight effect, Philips is truly providing an enhanced FIFA World Cup™ experience for the 2006 games.
"Philips Free Kick Offer" – Special Consumer Promotion in select football enthusiast states of India, during the FIFA World Cup™
The Consumer Electronics Division of Philips Electronics India Limited has launched a special Consumer Promotion "Philips Free Kick Offer" in the football enthusiast states of Kerala, West Bengal, Goa and the North-Eastern States. The special Consumer offer ensures an assured gift to the consumer on the purchase of a Colour Television. The other gifts include Motorbikes, Home Theatres, DVD Players, Head Phone Stereos, Irons, Strolley Bags, Football watches and extended warranties. There is an attractive Exchange Offer for consumers, who would like to upgrade their sets to enjoy the FIFA World Cup™ experience. Launch of the new products in Flat and Slim Television category is also in the anvil. The “Philips Free Kick Offer” is on from 1st May, 2006 to 30th June, 2006.
Select ARENAs (The Philips Exclusive Brand Shops) have been selected for this campaign in all the major cities (New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh) including Kerala and West Bengal. All the above ARENAs have been specially done up with a football theme. Towards second half of May, 2006 Philips also plans to run exciting consumer offers based on the FIFA theme, in the Arenas.

Philips employees in Germany, Austria and Switzerland showcase their football skills during a table football tournament
Since early February, employees have been matching up against each other at Philips sites in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, preparing to play the final in Hamburg and becoming the champion of the Philips Table Football Tournament.
With the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ only two months away, football fans are already getting excited about the tournament, with Philips employees being no exception. When it comes to the FIFA World Cup™, the next best thing for many fans is table football, and Philips is bringing the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ sponsorship home for all employees to enjoy.
Each of the 30 office locations has been meeting in doubles fixtures to decide the Table Football Tournament Champion of each Philips site. The qualifiers will be heading to the final matches in Hamburg on April 6th.
The response has been overwhelming, with 600 teams participating, making this tournament a true predecessor to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™.
