o make the most of the growing demand for luxury products in India, Swiss watchmaker Rado has opened its first exclusive showroom in Malad, a Mumbai suburb. Inaugurating the showroom, G Kannan, country manager, Swatch Group India, said, "Rado is one of our fastest selling brands. Its appeal to and demand by the Indian consumers is well reflected in the number of retail outlets that have shown confidence in the product." The brand is present in more than 100 outlets in 30 cities, with around 23 service outlets all over the country. At the opening of the showroom, Kannan was accompanied by Rado brand ambassador Lisa Ray and Peter Kaeser, vice-president, Rado Watch Company, Switzerland.

Rado is part of the Switzerland-based, US $3.9 billion Swatch Group which has 18 other watch brands in its portfolio including Breguet, Blancpain, Omega, Longines, Tissot, Calvin Klein and Swatch. In India, Swatch has five brands including two in what it calls the high range (Longines and Rado) and one in the middle range (Tissot).
