NBC Awaaz recently organised the ICICI Awaaz Consumer Preference Vote Awards on the basis of a research survey conducted in
association with ORG-MARG. The attempt was to identify the brands consumers prefer most. The survey was conducted across 21
cities with a sample size of about 7,000 consumers. The respondents belonged to the age group of 18-60 years, were both men
and women, and belonged to SEC A, B & C households. They were asked to state their preferred brand rather than their
favourite brand.
Spontaneous rather than prompted responses were taken. The idea was to bring out unbiased preferences. Only owners or users
of a particular category were polled since the idea was to elicit responses that were based on actual usage of brands. The
