Glamour in this segment to compete with Bajaj Discover, Yamaha Fazer, LML Freedom and TVS Victor. Since it is already present
in this category with Super Splendor (�Super Upgrade�, The Brand Reporter, March 16-31, 2005), why did Hero Honda launch yet
another model?
�Style� is the company�s answer. A part of the executive segment, Glamour comes with a Quantum Core engine, flush-type lock
on the fuel tank and a stylish muffler. "We sensed the emerging need and developed a bike that met the aspirations of a new
lifestyle-seeking, trendy and attitude-wearing customer segment who wanted new levels of styling combined with functional
deliveries," says P S Sunder, head, marketing, Hero Honda Motors. Not many are impressed, however. "Hero Honda is trying to
do a Splendor and Passion act again. Both Splendor and Passion when stripped to their basics are the same bikes and differ
only in their styling," says a Delhi-based auto expert.... more
