hen Next Gen Publishing announced that it would have five special interest magazine titles up and running by end-2005, it
created a small flutter in the Indian publishing space (�Ready Reckoner�, The Brand Reporter, June 16-30, 2005). Today, the
company is well on its way to fulfill that promise. It recently launched two monthlies, Car India and Bike India. With Smart
Photography and Forbes Yellow Pages (editions in New Delhi and Ahmedabad), Next Gen now has four in the stable.
Is that four too many? Hoshang Billimoria, chief operating officer, Next Gen Publishing, has this to say: "We are in the
business of generating content. Within this space we are, at present, specifically looking at Forbes Yellow Pages and special
interest magazines." While the monthly Smart Photography caters to beginners, enthusiasts and professionals in the world of
imaging, Car India and Bike India cater to the four- and two-wheeler enthusiasts respectively. Adil Darukhanawala, formerly
with Overdrive magazine, is the chief editor of both magazines. Car India and Bike India are priced at Rs 75 and Rs 50
respectively, have a claimed print run of 25,000 copies each and are distributed by India Book House (IBH).... more
