he Economist has created a new post of global marketing director and hired a former American Express marketer for the same.
Susan Clark, who was at American Express for 15 years, would be responsible for brand advertising and public relations for
the 162-year-old news and business analysis magazine, as well as for Economist.com and its annual publications Intelligent
Life and The World In. She will also be responsible for circulation marketing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Andrew Rashbass, publisher of the magazine since April, said Clark would be given the task of explaining the appeal of The
