laupunkt is all set to curb the temptation of new car buyers to go in for an entertainment system from the thriving but undependable unorganised market. The German car entertainment system major has unveiled a new retail initiative which involves setting up 20 exclusive branded retail outlets this year and taking that up to the 30-outlet mark by 2006. The company also plans to have 25 premium dealers to help in its retail initiative.
Though the volumes for the company�s Indian operations are minuscule compared to its worldwide sales of five million car radios, 17 million speakers and half a million navigation systems each year, Blaupunkt is gung-ho about its Indian prospects. Its enthusiasm stems from the growth in the Indian car entertainment segment.
