hile Mickey Mouse tries to master Hindi diction, Donald Duck attempts to pen the desi alphabet. Elsewhere, Spiderman swings his way to Hindi tuition classes. There�s nothing incongruous about this scenario. Walt Disney Television International (India) - WDTII has used these images to get across the message that Toon Disney�s programmes are ready for Hindi audiences.

Disney�s print campaign shows three situations. The first has Mickey Mouse trying to learn Hindi from Rapidex, a book series most wannabe language learners in India swear by. In the next, Donald Duck tries to write the Hindi alphabets with chalk on a brown-bordered blackboard. Here, again, the act and props are typical to most Indian village schools. The third ad has superhero Spiderman winging his way towards �Mishra�s Hindi Classes�.... more
