n an already crowded news channel space there is a new entrant. Janmat, the news channel promoted by the Adhikari brothers, is to be launched this month. "Janmat," says Markand Adhikari, vice chairman and managing director, SAB Television Network Ltd, "means voice of the people. The channel endorses the same view."

Positioned as a views channel, it will have 70 per cent of prime time shows involving audience participation. The prime time slot extends from 6 pm to midnight. There will be over 45 shows across genres. These include social and political analysis, crime, lifestyle, youth, education and women related programmes.
