Bajaj Discover DTSi's latest television commercial is based on the natural human tendency to look and take in the beauty of one's possessions. The Last Temptation, as this ad's slug proclaims, illustrates how men have been, and always will be, possessive and show-offs where their bikes are concerned. But just showing it off is not enough. Here, a rider wants to enjoy the sight of himself riding a gleaming roadster.
The commercial? On a long stretch of road, a young man rides his bike alongside a truck carrying furniture while the heavy vehicle driver is enjoying an old Hindi movie song on his radio. The driver notices the biker and is puzzled that he does not overtake the truck and continues to drive alongside and stare sideways. Then the background track, which is also the song the driver is listening to, becomes louder. It becomes clear that the biker had been staring into the pile of furniture which includes a mirror, and admiring his Bajaj Discover DTS-i and its features (the bike has already won a few awards). At this point, the helper in the truck, who had been asleep until now, clumsily wakes up and possessively covers the mirror with a piece of cloth. All the biker can do is shrug and ride off happily. The popular background score, �Tere chehre se nazar nahi hat ti' (�Can't take my eyes off you'), is from the movie Kabhie Kabhie.
