here was a lot of noise early this year when Sony Entertainment Limited (SET) showed interest in acquiring Sri Adhikari Brothers' SAB TV. But once it became a part of SET in March this year, the latter was quiet about what it wanted to do with the channel it had acquired. Now, more than six months down the line SET has officially announced its plans for SAB.

November onwards, there will be a complete change in SAB TV's avatar with a new logo (a bold red S in a small box with SAB in the footnote) and promos. "The whole exercise is to position SAB as a mass variety entertainment channel with lively programmes that give an optimistic view of the everyday lives of ordinary people," says Vikas Bahl, senior vice president, content and communication, SET India. A new show, Lo Kal Lo Baat, similar to Star World's Drew Carey-hosted stand-up comedy show �Whose line is it, anyway?' reflects the kind of programmes that will follow on SAB.
