Channel surfing

s people log on to the internet more often, it seems that they look for information related to other media as well. Fans of popular TV programmes are turning to the internet for more information. According to a study by comScore Media Metrix, websites related to TV programmes grew 8 per cent in September 2005 to 69.3 million unique visitors.

ABC.com fared particularly well with 7.6 million unique visitors, up by 90 per cent from August. This can be attributed to popular programmes like Alias and Desperate Housewives. The site offers interesting content like programme-related video clips, podcasts (feeds to iPods), mobile phone wallpapers and online merchandise store.... more
