Capturing the gleam

ould there be a first-of-its-kind product in toothpastes? The Indian market has seen an array of oral care products that parade features from whitening formulae to tartar control. Different ingredients have been tried at different times - salt, clove oil or sparkles. There have been mouthwashes that claim to whiten teeth and chewing gum that can make teeth sparkle. However, it doesn't end there. According to Delhi-based Whitening Expressions, there is more.

The company recently launched Aquawhite, a whitening gel. So what's the difference between a whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, chewing gum and Aquawhite? "Toothpastes alone cannot whiten teeth; they only help in maintenance of teeth. Aquawhite uses the same formula used by dentists worldwide for teeth whitening," says Nikhil Nanda, managing director, Whitening Expressions Laboratories.
