The leitmotif of PepsiCo�s 7Up advertising, Fido began life as an illustration in the most non-illustrious fashion. He was born in 1985 at the hands of one Susan Rose on a cocktail napkin. He was all of 15 lines: A triangular head with features as uncomplicated as a snowman�s and eight locks of scary, stand-up hair. Joanna Ferrone of Honest Entertainment, a media company in the US that generates imaginative properties, later gave Fido a character. In India, the real life story of the gawky cornball was brought to play in a television commercial last year when singer-model Shivani Kapoor drew a sketch of Fido Dido on a napkin while sitting in a caf�.
