he long drawn airfare war is witnessing a new battle for attracting corporate fliers and the first salvo has been fired by Kingfisher Airlines.
Kingfisher recently advertised a new offer targeted at rival Jet Airway's Platinum and Gold privilege members. Under this programme, Jet's privilege member gets two savings booklets of six coupons each for Kingfisher tickets worth Rs 26,990. This offer can be redeemed at any Kingfisher counter - the passenger just needs to show the platinum or gold card at the counter. "We are effectively giving 18 tickets at the price of 12. This is targeted at the privilege members because the ratio of their flying is very high - almost four times more than regular fliers," says Girish Shah, general manager, marketing, Kingfisher Airlines.
According to Kingfisher, its main objective is to motivate freq- uent fliers to board Kingfisher. "Once the passenger boards the flight, we are sure that he will travel Kingfisher every time as we provide the passenger with value added services at a cost lower than the other airline," says Shah.
