ver felt the urge to watch a movie while on the move? If the answer is yes, read on. In an effort to satisfy consumers' need to be entertained while on the move, Philips Electronics India Ltd (PEIL), a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics, has introduced the Mobile DVD Player PET 710.
The company claims it is the only consumer durable brand in the country to currently offer a product in this category. Gautam Dalal, senior brand manager (DVD players) PEIL, says, "Entertainment today is all about convenience and we're providing mobile entertainment."
Philips views the PET 710 not as an entry-level product but as a gadget meant for a niche audience that satisfies a need that no other product fulfills. "The product comes handy on long journeys and can be used to entertain kids travelling with parents. In a sense PET 710 is targeted at children. It is a must-have, especially for parents who have cars and drive their kids around in them," says Gunjan Srivastava, director, audio and video business group, consumer electronics, PEIL.... more
