here are many ways of removing stains from clothes. They range from household tips like rubbing a lemon to get rid of rust marks to dipping clothes in chlorine bleach. The latter, however, can't be used on coloured clothes.
Reckitt Benckiser has come up with a product which, the company promises, will take away stain-removing woes. Recently it launched Vanish Shakti O2, a stain remover that can be applied directly on the stain and can also be used in washing machines. Vanish can also be used by making a paste and applying directly on the stain. "This makes the product very versatile - it can be used to remove stains not only from clothes but also from sofas, table covers or curtains," says Anuradha Sehgal, marketing manager, Reckitt Benckiser.
So what makes this product different from chlorine bleach? "Vanish does not contain bleach which discolours the fabric and can be harsh on it. Vanish works by releasing active oxygen in water. So it does not cause damage," says Sehgal.... more
