ast month, passengers flying in the Bangalore-New Delhi sector on no-frills airline Air Deccan were in for a pleasant surprise. They were handed a Caf� Coffee Day (CCD) menu book to order from. It certainly was a change from the Udupi-hotel-in-the-sky image that Air Deccan has portrayed.
"It is a promotion for both of us," says John Kuruvilla, chief revenue officer, Air Deccan. For CCD, this is the first time it is tying up with an airline to provide food and beverages offering on an aircraft. It will be the single point vendor to Air Deccan. As an introductory promotion, Air Deccan passengers will receive discounts on purchases of merchandise like coffee powders and gift packs at all CCD stores against their boarding pass.... more
