yson Foods, a leading producer and marketer of meat products in the United States, has started a new promotion to encourage people to say their prayers at mealtime. It is distributing prayer books both as hard copies and e-book versions. The book contains 29 different types of prayers, ranging from the very simple ("For every cup and plateful, may the Lord make us truly grateful") to the humorous ("Good food, Good treats, Good God, Let's eat!"). There are prayers on a more religious note, and prayers in Latin American languages.

The preface to the book is a signed note by the company's founder, John Tyson, in which he says, "At Tyson Foods, one of our core values is 'to strive to honour God and be respectful of each other, our customers and our stakeholders.'
