t's hard to find a car ad that doesn't show the same adventurous landscapes, the same interior shots and the same monotonous voiceover. The latest ad for Mitsubishi 2006 Endeavor certainly is a �cut above the rest.' Drawing upon the Japanese art of origami (paper folding), it shows the vehicle traversing through a landscape made entirely of paper artwork.

The ad begins with narration in Japanese (with English subtitles) recalling a legend, as a red paper dragon flies soars above a forest of paper trees. Right from the paper road to the deer, the skies and even the pool of water, the effect is mesmerising. The country side develops into a city full of paper apartments and houses, where the vehicle comes to a stop. The key message is that of the SUV being one with nature, yet with contemporary attributes. Three cheers to BBDO New York for the amazing concept and execution.... more
