tating the obvious, the transformation in the insurance sector has been dramatic after its opening up and the entry of private players. What is interesting to note, however, is the kind of innovations that insurance companies have come up with in an attempt to woo consumers.

The latest in line is ING Vysya Life Insurance. The company has come up with a blogging site that features its insurance advisors. The portal, www.pickuradvisor.com, is the first of its kind that brings together the advisors and the customers. Says Gautam Sharma, vice president, head marketing, ING Vysya Life Insurance: "This service empowers potential customers to view featured advisor profiles on the site and then choose the advisor they would like to interact with and, later, meet if they want to. It also empowers our top advisors to get a chance to leverage their knowledge and advisory capabilities to a larger group of potential costumers."... more
