ith footfalls in malls not converting to sales as much as developers would have desired, stores are turning to technology in order to attract more customers. One of the newer ideas is digital signage that can display what individual stores have on offer. MGF Mall in Gurgaon near Delhi has thought up large plasma screens that display details at strategic points of the mall.

MGF has put up a network of 16 digital signages - each one is called QSign - that help consumers decide where they want to go. The system, developed by Chennai-based Real Image Media Technologies (RIMT), is based on the same technology platform as digital cinema.
