new era in winter sports has dawned with the launch of a Bluetooth-enabled jacket that allows the wearer to communicate through a mobile device. Bluetooth technology allows short-range wireless connectivity between portable devices like mobile phones and PDAs (personal digital assistants). The Audex Jacket Series has been developed with the technological input of wireless communication firm Motorola and snowboard equipment and apparel supplier, Burton.
At the centre of the Audex jacket is a control panel located on the left-hand sleeve, allowing for simple and easy access to incoming and outgoing calls on the mobile phone, and music selections. By connect a compatible Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone (supported by a wireless headset or handsfree) to the panel wirelessly, while hooking up an iPod player via hidden, unobtrusive wires within the jacket.
