he National Geographic Society and custom publisher The Magazine Group have formed GeoGroup Media, an alliance that will provide socially responsible communications for corporations and institutions nationwide. The company will partner with corporations and institutions to create communication vehicles highlighting their corporate responsibility programmes. Geo Group Media will target a wide range of industries including automotive, energy, environment, pharmaceutical and packaged goods.
The initiative is going to create a major impact in the growing custom publishing market estimated at over $35 billion in 2004, according to the Custom Publishing Council. National Geographic, with its reach to 300 million readers through multi-media outlets, and The Magazine Group, producing over 35 million copies of custom magazines annually for 65 organisations, are bound to be a force to reckon with in the publishing world.... more
