Worth a steel

one are the days when steel utensils were relegated to daily use with ceramic and glassware being brought out for special occasions. Now steel is back in vogue - thanks largely to brands like Magpie and Jindal Steel's Art d'Inox, which have launched a trendy, upmarket line in the metal. What's more, steel has moved far beyond the confines of the kitchen, making quite a statement in home d�cor and lifestyle products.

Steel's image makeover is nowhere more evident than at steeljunction - a unique 23,000 sq ft mall storing only steel products. The specialised store opened by Tata Steel was launched in Kolkata last December and showcases a whole range of steel products in mild, alloy and stainless steel. The product range covers two sections - home construction and maintenance products and home aesthetics products. While the ground floor houses hardware and home construction items, the first floor has gymnasium equipment, kitchenware, bathroom fittings, tableware, modular kitchens, lifestyle products, jewellery and more.... more
