Eyeing a new market

ohnson & Johnson (J&J;) Vision Care, leader in the disposable contact lenses market in India, is now eyeing the one-day-wear segment. With its 1-Day Acuvue brand of disposable contact lenses, J&J; Vision Care hopes to grow the Rs 60 crore contact lens market further by targeting a new group of users.

"Our pre-launch research showed that spectacle wearers are dissuaded from wearing disposable lenses because of two factors: cost as well as health and maintenance.
