ow important are taglines for an FM radio station? Are they important to their listeners? Radio channels in India have changed or tweaked their taglines to draw more listeners. Private stations like Red FM and Radio City are prime examples. Red FM started with Asli Masti (in 2003) and changed it to Bajate Raho in September 2005. Recently Radio City changed its tagline from City Bajao to City Mein Kho Jao.

Some like government-owned AIR do not believe in taglines, though AIR FM Rainbow was earlier known as FM Metro or simply FM Stereo. The second AIR channel was renamed AIR Gold. Radio Mirchi, on the other hand, has experimented with its tagline but never changed it. ... more
