ith over 50 million MP3 players sold last year, listeners of these digital music devices are a growing consumer demographic. Market intelligence firm BIGresearch has released a profile of MP3 player users in the United States. The average MP3 user is male (64 per cent), with about 15 years of education and income over $67,000 per year. Just over half of the users come from households who own their houses.
Additionally, they are most likely to drive a Ford (14 per cent) or Chevrolet (10 per cent) and shop at Wal-Mart (10 per cent for men, 7.5 per cent for women). MP3 users are also tech-savvy and more likely to subscribe to cable TV, have high speed internet access, satellite TV, access streaming video on their cell phones and use voice over internet telecoms services.... more
