any technically inclined consumers are starting to look at Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) as a good alternative to cable and satellite television. IPTV is a combination of interactive television and other content delivered through broadband and internet protocol. The finding relates to a survey conducted by In-Stat and Siemens Communications recently.

The respondents comprised early adopters of the technology. Of these, 18 per cent said they would probably or definitely switch from cable and satellite TV to IPTV. Further, given a reduction in cost of 10 per cent, an additional 34 per cent said they would make the switch. ... more
