ccording to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce of China, fast food chains are growing in importance in the country's catering industry in many cities. The business volume of fast food outlets in coastal provinces is higher than those of diners and restaurants, according to figures.

In southern China's Guangdong province, for instance, the share of fast food is up to 90 per cent. In provinces like Jiangsu, Shanghai City, Liaoning, Beijing City, Zhejiang and Shangdong, fast food has a share of more than fifty per cent.
