here's just no stopping them. According to a report, based on a survey, published by the Internet and
Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) the average Indian household in the top 10 Indian cities pays 42
bills annually. The report claims that India's internet population stands at 38.5 million and is set to
grow to 100 million by 2007-08 and the number of Indians paying their bills online is set to rise from
0.3 million in 2005-06 to 1.8 million in 2007-08.
The survey polled 6,365 respondents. Not
surprisingly, 68 per cent of all online bill payers fell between the 18-35 -year age group. Men, it
would seem, trust online transactions more than women, since 83 per cent of online bill payers were
male. What is interesting about the report is that 57 per cent also used it for online
