he Rs 850-crore Marico Industries has launched a new range of shampoo, Silk-n-Shine, under its existing Hair and Care umbrella brand.
Till now Marico, marketer of brands like Parachute, Saffola, Sweekar and Revive, was seen as a traditional hair oil company. That was thanks to its flagship brand Parachute which owns more than half of the hair oil market. The company found this limiting in a situation where India has one of the youngest populations in the world, among major countries. It was seeking a modern format for its products, says a company spokesperson. The tagline, ab uljhan ka time up, is in line with the contemporary youth�s attitude of looking for quick and effective solutions.
