he administrative council of London's Hackney Borough (www.hackney.gov.uk) has pulled up sports giant Nike for using its logo on a range of World Cup sportswear. Hackney Council is threatening Nike with legal action, and is demanding monetary compensation in order to develop sports in the town.

The Hackney Council logo is a rounded letter H encircled by 'The London Borough of Hackney', and has been in use since 1965. Nike has used the logo on t-shirts, vests, trainers and footballs to promote its football campaign for the World Cup.... more
