Keeping its options open

To take that argument further, NDTV 24X7 recently came out with Southern Edition, a daily programme of news - using the Opt-Out telecast technology - for viewers in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Southern Edition will be on air every weekday at 7.30 pm. What is Opt-Out? It is a widely-used technology in the US especially by established networks like CNN, where they can opt out of a particular region if the idea is not working. NDTV developed this technology towards the end of last year. The South Edition is its first application.... more
