arketers on the prowl for captive advertising space have just got one more option. GoAir is now offering the interior and exterior space of its aircraft for advertisements. It's a formula adopted by Air Deccan a couple of years back. But GoAir has gone a step further by offering space on baggage tickets, boarding passes and the ticket itself.

"We will use the back of the boarding pass and the baggage tag as space where advertisers can place their messages," says Raj Halve, chief commercial officer, GoAir. But selling of the exterior space of its aircraft may just prove to be a wee bit difficult for GoAir. There are certain guidelines laid by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), which have to be followed. The airline also has to give a certain percentage of ad revenue to AAI. Halve says, "We will get all the clearances required before we implement the same, of course."... more
