ood things usually come in small packages. Marketers have discovered the truth in the adage over the years, judging by the number of products that are available in sachets today.

Sachets were pioneered in India by the erstwhile Brooke Bond, which merged with Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) in 1996. Brooke Bond introduced packet tea sachets in the 1950s, which were then popularly known as 'paisa packs', because they were priced at five paisa. Later CavinKare popularised the concept in the '90s by launching shampoo in sachets.... more
