pen any newspaper, flick any channel, pass any hoarding and ads by internet companies are sure to grab the eye. Clearly, the days of the dotcom bust are well and truly forgotten and things are going swimmingly in the internet industry. At least, that's what one infers from the latest set of figures for advertising by internet companies in other media.

According to AdEx India, a division of TAM Media Research, online portals have spent Rs 13.7 crore on television advertising in just the first six months of 2006. Contrast this to 2004 when the total television spend for the whole year was Rs 14 crore.... more
