uick, name an Indian brand's website that comes to mind when the brand name is mentioned. Difficult question? There are 25 million active internet users in India (source: IAMAI). However, marketers in India don't seem to have understood the medium in terms of leveraging it.
"Though we talk of India being technology savvy, no one walks the talk," says Sunil Shibad, creative director, The Flea (an agency that provides creative solutions for brands across traditional and new media). "We are still in the banner era. We are nowhere in the micro sites space," he adds. Satish Ramachandran, general manager, FCB Interactive (the specialist arm of FCB Ulka) agrees.
