t is official now. According to a report by PQ Media, Global Product Placement Forecast 2006, global paid product placement spending surged 42.2 per cent to $2.21 billion in 2005 in the US. This double-digit growth is expected to continue in 2006.

Product placement spending in TV, film and other media is expected to climb a further 38.8 per cent to $3.07 billion in 2006, since advertisers and marketers have started considering paid placements a better bargain. The overall value of the worldwide product placement market, says the report, will increase 18.4 per cent compounded annually to $13.96 billion in 2010.... more
