Ironical as it may sound, while the two genres are losing readers and suffering from shrinking newsstand sales, the readership declines haven't translated into losses in ad pages or revenues for bridal magazines. In fact, according to the Publishers Information Bureau, wedding magazines are experiencing a small boom in ad spending.

The commercial success, however, is dampened by big drops in single-copy sales, considered by some to be a better indicator of consumer appeal.
