How did he get into CNN-IBN and get to become an anchor?

Tomar was covering Page 3 in Bombay Times when in 2005, Rajiv Masand from CNN-IBN called him. "When I first joined there was a show called Showtime India on CNBC on the South Asia World network (which is CNBC in Europe). We launched it in December. For the first three months I was only reporting and then the bosses called and said 'let's get him to anchor'. That's how it began,'' he recalls.
