lmost every channel today, be it for music, sports or drama, has at least one reality adventure show in its list of programmes. There is Fear Factor India on Sony Entertainment Television, MTV's Roadies or Paisa Bhari Padega on SAB TV. It would seem that such shows have come to stay. For instance, MTV's Roadies. It is into its fourth season. ZEE has Shabaash India - strictly not an adventure show but has a lot of thrills.
Roadies tests the mettle of a young group travelling across the country on bikes, by exposing them to gruelling situations and igniting complex relationship issues. MTV is quite happy with the way Roadies has turned out. Says Ashish Patil, vice president and general manager, creative and content, MTV Networks India, "Roadies has grown since its first season in 2003. In the second season we saw a 100 per cent growth, third season 104 per cent and after the fourth season we are sure to break the previous record as well."... more
