ews Corp has signed a carriage agreement with Time Warner Cable for its much-awaited Fox Business News channel. Time Warner Cable reaches out to 23 million homes and has long been sought after by News Corp as a cable partner for the launch. With the deal underway, many in the industry expect News Corp to finally move forward with the launch of the channel after incremental delays.

Rumour has it that Time Warner Cable and Fox News executives had been discussing the terms before the holiday season. Time Warner Cable is one of two major cable players in the New York market. The deal was considered critical for News Corp before it launched its business news channel, which has been waiting in the wings since 2004.
