ivek Sakhle's story is the stuff tinsel dreams are woven of. The 30-year-old, who found fame as the endearing, if grammatically challenged, Dr Bhatawdekar, animal specialist, in the Wrigley's Orbit White commercials, started off as a photocopy operator in a Mumbai hospital. Even after finding fame with the Orbit commercials, he continues to work as a salesman for Aloe Vera gels. And he is not shy of his humble origins.
He was doing a stage play with college students, when someone from Wrigley's spotted him. Apparently, Sakhle had no inkling that his friends from the play had been contacted. A cryptic call or two later, he was told that he had been selected and was asked to come for the shoot straightaway.
