t is tough to be serious around someone who talks about designing publications in the same breath as Chinese food. Even if the �someone' has been instrumental in designing half a dozen leading Indian publications. Anup Gupta has had stints at India Today, The Economic Times (ET), Business Standard (BS), A&M;, Businessworld (BW) as well as The Times of India (ToI). His present posting is at HT Media's new business paper Mint as creative head. Gupta was also responsible for the design of the paper under the leadership of reputed designer Mario Garcia, who was responsible, among other publications, the redesign of The Hindu.
Gupta, who hails from a family of creative people, studied applied arts at the prestigious Delhi College of Art. He grew up watching his uncles painting and making posters and murals - an undoubted influence in his choice of career.
