ecember last year, Google has filed a patent, describing a hyper-local outdoor advertising model, supported by its web-based ad network.
The company will install outdoor screens and teller machines outside malls and other public places, in the US. According to the document filed, some screens will be interactive and the patent mentions that they could be equipped to let users take away incentives "such as printed flyers (for example, maps to locations of advertising businesses), printed coupons, trinkets, gimmicks, clothing (T-shirts printed with a promotional message), candy, food, and other product samples."... more
