A painter, film art director, teacher, businessman and now the national creative director at Leo Burnett, India, Pops - as he is affectionately called - has played various roles. Here, the 49-year-old describes the instances that outlined him as a veteran of the advertising industry.
I always wanted to be an established painter, but I guess life had some other designs for me. One of the most memorable moments was when I designed the Jet Airways logo. It was a testing phase for me. I had to design close to 367 items from badges-to trays-to table mats. It was a huge responsibility because 90 per cent of airlines used their country's logo and this was a private airline. It made me think things through various dimensions and the result was worth all the effort.... more
